How to Connect Your Domain to Hosting
Step-by-step guide to linking your domain name to SNG Hosting
Whether you bought the domain from us or another registrar, connecting it to our hosting is simple. All you need is to update the Nameservers.
- 1Schritt 1
Get Your Nameservers
When you sign up for hosting, you receive a 'New Account Information' email. Look for the Nameservers, usually formatted like: ns1.snghosting.com and ns2.snghosting.com.
- 2Schritt 2
Access Domain Control Panel
Go to the registrar where you bought the domain (SNG Hosting, GoDaddy, Namecheap...). Find the DNS or Nameservers settings for the domain you want to connect.
- 3Schritt 3
Update Nameservers
Change the current nameservers to the SNG Hosting nameservers you got in step 1. Make sure to remove any old ones.
HinweisNote: Propagation can take anywhere from 1 to 24 hours globally (DNS Propagation).
- 4Schritt 4
Add Domain in cPanel (For Addon Domains)
If this is an additional domain (Addon Domain), go to cPanel > Domains > Create A New Domain, type the domain name, and uncheck 'Share document root' if you want a separate folder.
Common Errors & Solutions
- Ensure there are no extra spaces when copying nameservers.
- Wait a bit after updating; changes aren't always instant.
- Clear your browser cache if the site doesn't show up.
- Use a tool like whatsmydns.net to verify propagation.
